April 11, 2008 Friday afternoon, 1:30–4:00, just before the start of the PSD Annual Conference The Social Justice Program Area is providing a free preconference workshop Friday afternoon. You’ll be finished in time for dinner and then attend the opening of the Annual Conference. Facilitator Willie Bennett will share how interfaith congregation-based community organizations (CBCOs) can leverage power to bring about change. Mr. Bennett is the Lead Organizer of Dallas Area Interfaith. DAI is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation, a 60+ year old network of community organizations committed to social justice and the common good. He has been a community organizer with the IAF for over 12 years and has worked in cities across the southwest including Fort Worth and Austin, Texas. |
