Scholarships

A scholarship fund has been created by the Prairie Star District Board to subsidize attendance at Annual Conferences for those who could not otherwise attend.

Donations

Your voluntary contributions to this fund are much appreciated. Every dollar you contribute, even one dollar, will help another UU attend next year’s conference. You can contribute by adding a gift when you register for the conference or you may contribute without registering.

Applications

  • The first round of scholarships will be awarded based on applications received as of noon on February 29, 2012. Additional scholarships will be awarded after that date as long as funds are available. As of March 14, 2012 funds are depleted and no additional scholarships are being awarded.
  • Thanks to individual contributions from members of congregations all over the District, we are able to give a limited number of scholarships covering half the early registration fee (adult scholarship will be $78, young adult $63, and youth $25) to help offset the cost of attending the Prairie Star District Annual Conference.
  • These scholarships are available only to members of District congregations who are in financial need.
  • First round applicants will be notified by email on or before March 2, 2012, as to whether or not they will receive a scholarship. If you do not receive a notice by that date, contact District Administrator Sarah Greene at sgreene [at] psduua [dot] org or 612-230-3272.
  • Scholarship recipients must register and pay the full registration fee. Early conference registration deadline is March 14, 2012.
  • Scholarship checks will be distributed at the Annual Conference.
  • Assistance with carpooling and finding a roommate for a hotel room, and home hospitality are all available.
