Graham Kreicker Elected Trustee

Introducing the new UUA Trustee from Prairie Star District

The UUA Trustee Election Committee for Prairie Star District is pleased to announce the election of Graham Kreicker as our representative. No nominations were received from congregations so according to the bylaws the election was held by the PSD Board of Directors. At the PSD Board meeting on April 7, 2011, Graham was elected to represent Prairie Star District on the UUA Board of Trustees beginning with the adjournment of General Assembly in 2011.

Graham Kreicker

UU Experience

Graham Kreicker (pronounced cry ker) had the good fortune to be born into a UU family. As a young adult he held many leadership positions, including President, of the UU Congregation of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He currently lives in Lawrence, Kansas and is a member of the Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence. He has chaired many committees at his present congregation, served as Chair of the Fellowship, Capital Campaign Co-Chair and as an Owners’ Representative for their new sanctuary addition.

Graham is a co-founder of SCORE, the very successful Southern Cluster OutReach and Extension that is expanding and energizing our congregations in Kansas and western Missouri. He has served on the PSD Nominating Committee.

Employment and Volunteer Experience

Graham holds a B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is retired from a successful career in advertising, marketing, sales and public relations; and is a retired Marine Corps Reserve Colonel. Graham served as Treasurer of the Construction Equipment Advertisers Association and later as the Midwestern Vice President of the Drug, Chemical and Allied Trades Association, national organizations.

A former three term City Council member in Warsaw, Indiana, he is also a Past President of the Kosciusko County United Fund, a member of the founding board of directors of Kosciusko Community Hospital, a non-profit general-acute hospital; and Vice President of the founding board of directors of the Otis R. Bowen Human Services Center, a non- profit community mental health center with 22 in-patient beds and satellite offices serving five counties. He was a member of the Northern Indiana Health Facilities Planning Commission.

He was President of the Warsaw Kiwanis Club. a Lt. Governor of Indiana Kiwanis and a member of the President’s Committee of Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana

Now Graham is a member of the Advisory Board of The Max Kade Center at Kansas University, a leading institution for the collection and preservation of the work of WW II European refugee authors living in the U.S. He is a past member of the Board of The Kaw Valley Living Wage Alliance that succeeded in getting Lawrence to adopt the first Living Wage ordinance in the state. Graham served on the Board of Grassroots Action, a citizen’s group advocating for responsible and transparent city and county government.

In 2010 Graham spent eleven months in Asuncion, Paraguay, as a volunteer English conversation teacher at the national teacher’s college. He is a volunteer English teacher in the Plymouth UCC church’s evening classes for immigrants.
