Using the concepts in the book Radical Hospitality: Benedict’s Way of Love, by
Daniel O. S. B. Homan and Lonni Collins Pratt, this workshop will explore a religious and congregational foundation for the practical work of welcoming and integrating visitors using our own Unitarian Universalist context.

Materials Provided
In addition to other handouts, each team will receive a copy of two DVD’s to take home
- “Journeys” — designed by Northeast Iowa UU Fellowship (Decorah, IA) to be given to visitors
- “Ideas for Growth” — designed by Jefferson UU Church (Golden, Colorado) and featured at UU University in 2006.

and anyone interested in radical hospitality
in UU congregations.

Workshop Leaders
Maryann Caudill Loguidice
Maryann is the Program Coordinator for the Growth
Program Area of Prairie Star District. For five years
she was Commissioned Lay Leader for the UU Fellowship
of Dubuque, IA. Her warm and caring presence
welcomed many visitors to the congregation. Now as
PSD Resource Liaison, Maryann provides support and
encouragement to several smaller congregations in
Iowa, southwestern Wisconsin, and southwestern Minnesota.
Rev. Don Rollins
Don is a UU parish minister and has served congregations throughout most parts of the U.S. and eastern Canada. He began his career as a Minister of Religious Education with a large congregation, and has since served in mid-size and small congregations. Don is especially interested in church organization and growth.
Costs
- $30 per person includes registration and materials, Saturday breakfast and lunch.
- Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements.
- Information on nearby motels will be sent on request.
- Limited home hospitality may be available if requested at least two weeks in advance.
