Media Grants

Media grants — matching funds from Giving to Grow for advertising expenditures — are available to PSD congregations.

Who can apply for a grant?

Any congregation that is a member of Prairie Star District Unitarian Universalist Association.

Where is the money from?

From the Giving to Grow funds contributed by Prairie Star District members and matched by the UUA, $10,000 has been allocated to be used as matching funds for advertising programs.

How much can we get?

The District will award grants of up to $2,000 to match one dollar for every two dollars raised by congregations from other funds.

Are there strings attached?

Preference will be given for proposals that are submitted jointly by more than one congregation in PSD.

A congregation must be a District Honor Society (have paid full District Fair Share) to receive a grant.

Any congregations awarded a grant will be expected to submit a report on the use of the funds with enough information to help the Prairie Star District analyze the effectiveness of this grant program, including statistics on any change in the rate of new visitors.

Congregations awarded a grant would also be asked to submit a copy of their advertising to be shared with other congregations in the development of their ad programs.

When is the money available?

As long as funds last. Decisions will be made on proposals as they are received.

Proposal Requirements

1. Proposals should be submitted in a narrative form containing the following information:
   1. A description of how the proposed advertising fits your plan for membership growth.
   2. A description of your source of matching funds.
   3. A description of the target audience of the proposal and of the demographics of the target geographical area.
   4. A timeline for the proposed advertising.
2. Any proposal must be signed by the President or Board Chair of each congregation participating in the proposal, and must contain the name, address, phone number, and (if possible) the e-mail address of the primary contact person for the proposal.
