The UUA will hold elections at General Assembly in 2009 for
- President,
- Moderator and
- Financial Advisor.
Every certified congregation will be able to vote in this election either by its delegates in person or by absentee ballot.

“The race to succeed the Rev. William G. Sinkford as president of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations is officially underway. Two ministers—the Rev. Dr. Laurel Hallman and the Rev. Peter Morales—announced in January that they are running for the office, which Sinkford will leave at the end of his second term in June 2009. … No candidates have yet announced plans to run for moderator or financial advisor. … ”
President
As chief executive officer, the UUA President, is responsible for the programs and administrative policies of the Association and is the Association’s chief spokesperson.

As chief governance officer, the UUA Moderator, presides at the General Assembly and at meetings of the Board of Trustees.
