Purpose: To administer a program to recognize individuals and congregations for exemplary service to their congregations, communities, the District, or the denomination.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating District awards program within the scope of PSD Policies and Procedures.
- Promoting awards through District communications.
- Soliciting nominations from all congregations in the District.
- Choosing awards recipients or communicating with appropriate selection group.
- Notifying recipients of awards. Ascertaining attendance at District conference. Requesting budget for and arranging gift certificates for award recipients from the UUA Bookstore.
- Working with Local Arrangements Committee to schedule awards presentations during the Annual Conference. Selecting presenters for awards. Providing information on award recipients to PSD administrator for conference Awards Luncheon program and District communications.
- Preparing awards publicity for the Annual Conference, District communications and recipients' home newspapers.
- Forwarding appropriate applications to UUA for consideration.
Reports to: Annual Conference Program Coordinator.
Term: 3 year, renewable once. Term begins July 1.
Geographic Location: Southern Minnesota, Northern Iowa, western Wisconsin.
Meets: Group meets in person and conducts business by phone and email.
Special Skills: Active participation in local congregation and Prairie Star District.
Other Pertinent Information: Attendance at the Annual Conference is expected.
