Volunteer Position

Annual Conference – Site Selection Committee

This Prairie Star District volunteer position is available. See Volunteer Opportunities to suggest a candidate.

Purpose: To contact and make arrangements with local congregations who act as hosts for each conference.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow District Annual Conference guidelines.
  • Maintain schedule of conference locations that alternate between northern and southern areas of District.
  • Select sites several years in advance.
  • Recommend to the Annual Conference Coordinator cities and host congregations for future annual conferences.
  • Work with District Administrator in setting up dates and schedules for conferences.
  • Contact potential congregations and secure commitments to host annual conference.
  • Act as consultant to host congregations in choosing the hotel location.
  • Approve selection of hotel upon recommendation of Local Arrangements Committee.
  • Assist Local Arrangements with hotel negotiations.

Reports to: Annual Conference Program Coordinator.
Term: 3 year, renewable once. Term begins July 1.
Geographic Location: District-wide.
Meets: Group operates by conference call and by email.
