Kathy Burek, member of Michael Servetus Unitarian Society in Fridley, MN, is participating in Starr King School of Ministry’s program called Seminary for the Laity.
A dynamic group of people are serving on a team to plan a new UU camp for the southern part of our District. The team includes Rev. Jim Eller, Bob Miller, and Carla Norcott-Mahany from All Souls in Kansas City, MO; John Brewer and Barbara Schowen from Lawrence; Mark Mayfield and Carolyn Ferguson from Manhattan; Nyla Romeiser and Barb Gutsch from Salina; Sherry Warren, Phil Lund, and Nancy Heege from the District staff.

Several congregations celebrated important anniversaries this fall:
First Unitarian Church of Des Moines, IA
130 years — celebrated in early December. UUA Moderator Gini Courter spoke at the service.
UU Fellowship of Manhattan, KS
50 years — celebrated with a series of three Sunday services on their past, their present, and their future.
Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence, KS
50 years — celebrated with a dinner for 200 people, reminiscences, and a performance by the I-70 choir [assembled from several UU congregations]
Black Hills UU Fellowship, Rapid City, SD
25 years — celebrated with a special gathering for sharing memories, potluck, and anniversary cake!
