 February 2010 PSD PeopleCongratulations to Rev. David Breeden, whose Installation Service at Minnesota Valley UU Fellowship in Bloomington, MN will occur on Sunday, March 28. Our thanks to Carma Doege (Unity Church–Unitarian, Saint Paul, MN) who sewed the Gold Stars for our 2010 Gold Star Congregations. The stars will be attached to the congregations’ banners for the Banner Parade at the District Annual Conference in Davenport in April. Stars in previous years were made by Jane Bowman (White Bear UU Church, Mahtomedi, MN) in 2008 and by Rev. Laurie Bushbaum (All Souls UU Church, Sioux Falls, SD) in 2009. PSD CongregationsGreen and Gold Star Recognition PSD is recognizing congregations who are growing in numbers of adult members. The Gold Star congregations are being honored for being among the PSD congregations with the greatest percentage of growth or increase in numbers of members. These 12 congregations added a total of 333 members in the past three years. The Green Star congregations are being honored for their growth in the last year, from 2009 to 2010. They’re among the congregations with the greatest percentage of growth or increase in numbers of members. They have grown from 9% to 19%, or from 9 to 29 more members, in just one year. The Gold Star congregations are listed at http://www.psduua.org/Growth/GoldStarCongregations and Green Star at http://www.psduua.org/Growth/GreenStarCongregations. They will be listed on fliers in the participants’ packets at the Annual Conference and at the Conference, Gold Star Congregations will be presented a special fabric gold star to attach to their congregation’s banner.
