Confirmation & Refunds Policy

Confirmation of a charge to your account will be emailed within two hours. If you have registered for a workshop, conference, or another event, a reminder of your registration with any needed materials will be emailed. Usually reminders are sent a week or two before the event takes place. If your registration cannot be accepted, you will be notified by phone or email as soon as possible and all fees paid will be refunded either to your credit card or by check mailed to the address you provided, at our discretion. If you need to cancel your registration, please let the organizers know as soon as possible. Policy on refunds for registration fees varies by event. Information on whom to contact will be included on the event publicity. Workshops, conferences or other events can be cancelled because of inadequate registration, weather, illness of main presenter, etc. If an event is cancelled, you will be notified by phone or email as soon as possible and all fees paid to PSD will be refunded either to your credit card or by check mailed to the address you provided. Prairie Star District events are organized and run by various volunteer committees as well as by District staff. The time table for registration confirmation, policy on refunds, and contact person will vary with sponsorship. If you do not know whom to contact, email us with complete information about the event you registered for including name of event, date and city where it will take place. District staff will forward your communication to the appropriate person. If you have made a donation greater than $250, acknowledgment with a tax receipt will be mailed to the address you provided.

Introduction

Prairie Star District UUA will collect and use information through our Web site only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at PSDUUA.org.

Information Collection

Prairie Star District UUA collects the following information about those who use our online store: Billing name and address; Shipping name and address; any additional information required by a registration form; and payment information. Credit card numbers are recorded only in a partial form that cannot be used for additional purchases.

We may also collect names and email addresses which our users divulge about other people, for example when using the "Tell a Friend" feature. Prairie Star District UUA does not actively market to children, and we never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information.

We collect the following general data that are not personally identifiable information: IP (Internet) addresses, computer and operating system type, and Web browser type and version. This information helps us to make the Web site more usable by all our visitors.

This online store employs "cookies" (small files stored on your computer) only to keep track of a shopping session as you move from one page to the next. Other parts of the Web site may also use cookies to allow users to remain "logged in" for more than one page at a time. These cookies contain no personally identifying information and expire as soon as you close your browser window.

Information Usage

The information collected by this Web site will be used for the purposes specified at the time it is collected.

Donors and conference registrants will receive our complementary email newsletter and occasional mailings about District business and activities unless they request not to receive them.

Any information that appears in the Prairie Star District Directory, such as contact information of ministers, congregation presidents, and newsletter editors, is routinely shared with member congregations.

We share conference-registration information with the church staff and volunteers who organize conferences. Member congregations who request mailing lists for purposes consistent with the district and approved by the district board are provided with that information for one-time use only.

At most workshops and conferences, a printed list of participants with email addresses, phone numbers and congregations is provided to all participants. If you wish your contact information not be included in such a list, please notify District staff at least 10 days before the event.

Payment information is sent in encrypted form to our credit-card processing company, PayPal, Inc. We do not share data with other third parties.

We offer links to other Web sites. Please note: When you click on links to other Web sites, we encourage you to read their privacy policies. Their standards may differ from ours.

Data Storage and Security

Prairie Star District UUA protects user information via SSL and/or SSH encryption of all transactions. Credit card numbers are never stored on our server in usable form.

Changes to this Policy

Prairie Star District UUA reserves the right to change this policy in the future without notice.
