Online Workshop

Disaster Preparation for UU Congregations

General Information

  • Workshop will be 1 ¼ hours long, with a presentation and time for discussion.
  • Participants will need a computer with high speed Internet access and a separate phone line. The workshop Web site address and call-in phone number will be emailed to those registered.
  • A slide presentation on how to participate in an online workshop is available.

Offered twice: Tuesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 15, 2009
7 p.m. Central [8 p.m. Eastern]

Leaders

Workshops will be led by District Staff from the sponsoring Districts and invited guests with experience in the topic.

Featuring: Rev. Kate Seitz Bortner

Rev. Kate Seitz Bortner is the affiliated Community Minister with the UU Congregation of York, PA and serves as consulting Parish Minister for the UUs of Gettysburg, PA. A graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary, Kate recently retired from the York City Police Department after a 22-year career in Crime Prevention. She conducts trainings in Safety and Security in Houses of Worship and serves on a Central PA team for First Responders. She was a founding member of The Interfaith Alliance-York, the York County Community Against Racism, and the York County Hispanic Coalition.

  • Registration is required by noon on the day of the workshop.
  • There is no registration fee, but participants may incur long distance charges on their phone bill for the phone call.
