Radical Hospitality 2008

Using the concepts in the book Radical Hospitality: Benedict’s Way of Love, by Daniel O. S. B. Homan and Lonni Collins Pratt, this workshop will explore a religious and congregational foundation for the practical work of welcoming and integrating visitors using our own Unitarian Universalist context. Examples of how the workshop materials have been used by previous workshop attendees such as the congregations in Willmar, Minnesota; First Unitarian, Omaha; and Duluth, Minnesota will be provided.

Workshop Leader

Maryann Caudill Loguidice
Maryann is the Program Coordinator for the Growth Program Area of Prairie Star District. For five years she was Commissioned Lay Leader for the UU Fellowship of Dubuque, IA. Her warm and caring presence welcomed many visitors to the congregation. Now as PSD Resource Liaison, Maryann provides support and encouragement to several smaller congregations in Iowa, southwestern Wisconsin, and southwestern Minnesota.

Costs

• Cost per person to be determined includes registration and materials, Saturday breakfast and lunch.
• Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements.
  • Information on nearby motels will be sent on request.
  • Limited home hospitality may be available if requested at least two weeks in advance.
