You can also join the larger (not specific to youth) facebook organization for the entire Prairie Star District by searching for “Prairie Star District” under organizations. It can be confusing, but it is worth it to be networked and in the know.
- Proposed Restructuring of Youth Programming PROVIDED by PSD
- There is a lot of confusion around what PSD provides and what we don’t. Unlike many other districts in UUA, PSD congregations hold their own cons - short for conferences - for youth. PSD does not operate these events, nor are we even informed of them at times. PSD tries to plan events that involve educational opportunities as well as opportunities for youth to connect with others outside of their congregations. These are sometimes called “working cons”. The last few we have planned have been canceled due to low registration. Sherry wrote a proposal to the board of how to change things, and you can read it here.

- YAC
- Information about the YAC, the group that plans many of the District youth-oriented events. Contains links to YAC documents, bylaws and forms. February 2009.... the PSD board was quite surprised to learn that the YAC had its own bylaws. It seems that committees are not allowed to have their own bylaws with the PSD governance structure. These will stay up for archival purposes, but Sherry’s thoughts are that they are null since there is no YRUU and the YAC is a committee of PSD.

- CONS
- Information about Youth Conferences and the YAC Seal of Approval process, with links to helpful brochures for youth new to CONS, parents, advisors, and adult sponsors or chaperones.
- Youth Events in PSD
- Information and links to registration forms for CONs and other youth events in the District. This is not necessarily a complete list since we are not always provided with this information from congregations. We add it when and if we are given correct information from the sponsor of the event.

- Describes six components of balanced youth programming, with links to resources and program ideas to use with YRUU groups that were submitted by district youth and youth advisors.
