Way More Than Leadership

Experience a whole new level of Unitarian Universalism!

What is MidWest Leadership School

Midwest Leadership School is a weeklong intensive experience designed to engage participants in all aspects of leadership in a Unitarian Universalist faith community. This year we are pleased to offer Midwest Leadership School for Youth (ages 14-18) in tandem with our Adult School. It is designed to challenge and train self-selected Unitarian Universalist youth in three areas: Leadership Skills Development, Worship, and Religious Values & Heritage. This Leadership School is an intentional community and learning experience. It is not a camp or conference. It equips young UU's with a foundation that deepens their religious development and expands their ability to contribute, both in their UU community and beyond.

Who Should Attend MWLS?

Students should be self-selected leaders, motivated to learn and engage. Youth entering grades 9-12 may attend; youth grades 10-11 are especially encouraged. Congregations sending adult students would especially benefit from sending youth!

Old Main

MidWest Leadership School is held on the beautiful campus of Beloit College in southern Wisconsin. The turtle, which is the symbol for Beloit College, is also the symbol for MWLS. There are several sacred burial mounds on the campus. For many native American cultures, the turtle symbolizes the planet Earth and a combination of strength, persistence, and the need to stick your neck out to get somewhere!

Fees and Tuition

Tuition — Tuition is $295 per student. Tuition includes meals, room, and materials for the week.
